Legoland, Florida

While in Orlando, a few weeks ago, my mom and I decided to take Bobby, and my two nieces to Legoland for the day.  The weather was beautiful, and we had a great time!  This was Bobby's first time at a theme park, and he had a blast.  The park, in my opinion, is definitely geared more toward smaller children.  With pint-sized rides, and roller-coasters, the kids wore themselves out!  Who am I kidding? I think my mom and I were pretty tired too!

The rides had little lego stations set up, so the kids could build, while waiting in line.

One of the neatest parts of the park, was the miniature Lego city the park had.  I was blown away by the attention to detail.  As my friend Jenny quoted on an Instagram picture, "everyone has a calling."

I also found the little "lego" creatures throughout the park's landscaping to be pretty funny.

Bobbyisms

Not only does sweet Bobby resemble me; but, apparently, we sleep the same way.

Taken last Mother's Day, at the lake.

Bobby said the other day to me, "Daddy was Bobby when he was little.  Then, he got big, and was called Bob.  Now, he's Daddy."

Says, "dude, cray cray," all the time.  He also calls everyone, a Pizza Maker.  I have NO IDEA where that one came from.  He asks to eat pizza nightly for dinner.  He has started saying, "May I please have (milk, etc...)?  He is learning what good "words" are (manners).

He's really into Lego's lately, building sets with his daddy.  He still loves to play with his Hot Wheel/Matchbox cars, train table, and Batman.

He weighs 35 lbs, and is wearing a size 12 shoe (although, I would bet he needs to move up in size!). He's also in 4T clothes, but the tops are big, and the pants are starting to inch up.  He's just so skinny!

He still enjoys school, but decided to discontinue Kindermusik.  It made me sad!  He has been clingy to me lately, and seems to be going thru a shy spell.  He is all about Evie, and he loves playing with her.  He is also the same way toward Winston.  Loves dancing, playing chase, and snuggling.

Favorite TV shows:  Chuggington, Doc McStuffins, and Sofia the First.  

Bobby's 3 Year Stats

At 3 years old, Bobby weighed 32.8 lbs. (55%) and, was 38.5 inches tall (75%).  His pediatrician predicted him to be around 6'5, as an adult.  

I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Bobby-isms and Life's Little Adjustments

It's been quite the eventful few weeks.  Life has definitely changed around here, and I am loving our new norm.  Yes, of course it's hard, and tiring; but, I wouldn't trade it for anything.  Along with adjusting to our new little one, we've had the sickies around here, and more company (I'll recap about it all soon enough!).  I actually have a lot to catch up on with the blog, but it's what to expect with a 2 year old, and 7 week old.  I'm hoping to recap our holidays, Evie's birth, and some other events or changes.

Now, onto Bobby...

He's been quite the character lately.  After all of our help left, he had a hard time adjusting to having a sibling.  He has always had my full attention, 100% of the time.  But, with little Evie - not so much.  Poor guy.  He has been great with her, but acting out more toward Bob and I.  Things have definitely gotten better over the past few days.  It could be because he's been sick, but I hope not!

Here are some of the things he's been saying lately:

-  He's somehow learned to say "sorry" to everything that happens.  He'll drop his fork, and say, "sorry, mommy."  He'll apologize for things that don't need an apology.  (That's actually one of my pet peeves about myself!).  I'm not sure where he picked this up, but it is cute and endearing.

-  My sister came to visit for a few weeks.  Her name is Kathy, and he pronounced it "khaki."  I thought that was funny and cute too!

-  We say our prayers for nap time and bedtime.  He told me last night, "I want Baby Jesus to come to my house tomorrow."  I tried to explain to him that Jesus is always here, but his little mind didn't quite grasp it.  He calls Jesus, Baby Jesus, because of what he learned about Christmas, and it's true meaning.  He also has asked to pray for our cleaning lady, Ann, and Mickey Mouse.  And, he of course prays for his family, friends, and classmates.  He'll always pray for Winston "Pup," too.  

-  The other night, after reading a book, he closed it and said, "Amen," instead of "The End."

-  He tells me many times throughout the day, "mommy, I'm so happy." It makes my heart melt.  I told him the other day, that I hope he's always happy in life.

-  I always tell him that he can play "for a little bit," or watch T.V. "for a little bit" to keep him preoccupied while I do something.  So, now, anytime before nap or bedtime, he asks if he can watch T.V. or play "for a lil' bit."  Again...super cute, and his way of stalling bedtime!

-  Today, he was calling me from the family room.  He kept saying, "hey babe."  I asked him where he heard that, and he said daddy.  Bob and I will call each other "babe" in conversation a lot.  

It is so amazing how much he picks up on!  We really do try and watch what we say and do.  He's so sweet, and is always asking to snuggle.  I hate that I can't do it each time, because of trying to take care of both he and Evie.  He seems to also notice more now when things are scary.  He told me today the cow-tipping (tractors) scene from Cars was scary. He's always talking about thunder, and the noises he hears in the house.  He sleeps with his door open, a hall light on, and now, a night light in his room.  I love this age, and he has become quite entertaining!  He talks a mile a minute, and I can't get in a word sometimes (especially in the car!).

Oh, and little Miss Evie started cooing and babbling this past week too!  I love her socializing!

Bobby's 2nd Birthday Party - April 30, 2011

This year, Bobby's actual 2nd birthday fell on a Saturday. The day was absolutely gorgeous, as the weather had not quite turned horribly hot yet. My parents came up from Orlando, and my brother and his family drove over from Atlanta; as well as Bob's parents. We had all of our friends join in the festivities too. Due to the amount of guests, I decided that we would not accept gifts; but, instead donations toward the American Cancer Society (in honor of my dad). Well, as most of you know, our state was jilted by killer tornados just three days before the party. So, at the last minute, I sent an email to all our guests, and told them that we would instead be accepting donations to the American Red Cross. We ended up raising over $300!

And, yes, of course... my little munchkin, did still receive his fair share of presents! :)

The party's theme was trains, with a bit of Thomas the Train thrown in. I didn't want to go overboard on theme'ing it out too much. All of the handmade decorations were supplied by my dear blogging buddy's (Shannon, of Webbisodes) company, Sweet Bean. Please check out her company for all your design needs! She did an amazing job!

Overall, the party was a huge success! Thanks to all of our friends and family for making the day so special!
