Evie is Eleven Months Old

Evie turned Eleven months old on October 29, 2012.

Weight:  19.6 lbs.
Clothes/Diaper: 12 months/Size 4

Sleeping Patterns:  Evie is still a great sleeper.  She sleeps at least 11 hours a night.  She's in bed between 6:30-7:00pm.  She is napping twice a day, and I don't think she's dropping to one nap anytime soon.  While teething, she will have disruptive naps on occasion.  Her morning nap is typically the longer of the two (2 hours).

Eating Habits:  Evie has 4 bottles per day, and is eating solids 3 times per day.  She drinks between 7  to 8 oz. per feeding. She's doing great with finger foods, and puts everything in her mouth!  She is eating a lot of table food (almost full-time).  She can lift the sippy cup to her mouth, but hasn't quite figured out yet how to suck the water out.  I am experimenting with different brands.

Milestones: In the past 3 months, Evie has learned and developed a lot!  She started walking at 10 1/2 months old.  She is so little, and it's funny to watch her walk.  I love it though!  She climbs everywhere!  I have to admit, she seems to be more adventurous at this age, then Bobby was.  She claps, waves bye-bye, does "touchdown!" with her arms, high-fives, and can sometimes hold up her finger to say she's turning one!  Words:  night-night, da da, mama, uh oh.  She says a lot of sounds too, and mimics us a lot.  Evie also still only has her two bottom teeth.  I have seen the two top teeth, and it looks like they are about to cut through.

Places Evie loves:  Being held!  She is a lot more clingy than Bobby ever was at this age.  I am sometimes amazed at the things I can accomplish while holding her!  She loves playing with Bobby, walks in her stroller, and sitting in her highchair eating snacks.  She's not a fan of the exersaucer so much anymore.  She does not like to be confined.  Probably a good thing... we can put it up in the attic!

Special Friends:  Big Brother Bobby, Reid Woodham, and Parker Wade.

Current Events: President Obama re-elected, Hurricane "Superstorm" Sandy hits NE, followed by a Nor'easter, economy still in decline, U of AL still undefeated in NCAA football.

What We Did this Day:  Ran errands, while Bobby was in school.

Mexico Trip

Bob and I celebrated our fifth anniversary, with a trip to Cancun, Mexico.  We stayed at the Iberostar Grand, and had a fabulous time!  Bob won the trip for us, because of high productivity during the summer months at work.  I was very proud of him!

We arrived Thursday afternoon, and departed Monday afternoon.  Our anniversary fell on the Saturday (10/13), and we spent the day alone - on the beach.  It was fabulous.  We read all day long, and had drinks and lunch brought to us.  The rest of the trip was spent with Bob's coworkers and wives.  We laid by the pool, ate, drank, went to the discoteca, shopped, and ate.  Did I say eat?

It was the perfect escape for us.  Bob and I were both feeling worn out, by work and the kids.  We needed this trip.  It was the perfect getaway!

Here's to making next year's trip!

(My camera settings were messed up for most of the trip.  Plus, there are better pictures on Bob's iPad, so hopefully, I can add those to the blog too!)

First afternoon on the beach, with a drink in hand!

The entrance to the beach, from the pool.

These chairs in the pool were awesome

Lobster, yum.

Would you believe me if I said he was just pouring coffee?

Joking around on a Gondola outside one of the restaurants!

Bromance with Bob and Tyler.

Anniversary Dinner (and, why do I look so fat?!?)

My own special Nacho Libre!

These little guys were all over the resort.

AL vs. TX office annual pool football game.  I won't say who won.

JoJo and Melissa's Wedding

I lifted this photo from Jo's Facebook page!

Bob's sister, Joye, was married LAST Labor Day weekend.  Yes, that's right... 2011.

(I told you I was going to be playing some major blog catch-up!!!)

Anyhow, it was a fun-filled weekend, filled with family and friends.  It really was one of the funnest weddings I have ever been to.  Sadly though, I was pregnant, and couldn't partake in the bubbly!  But,
I had a great time watching everyone else partake. :)

It was a Quaker ceremony, which was quite unique, and intimate.  The reception was a blast, and I am pretty sure the dance floor was packed the entire time.

Here's to many more!

Terrible Blogger Award

I've been a terrible blogger, for sadly, the past two years!  When I look at all the posts I did on Bobby; Evie's pale in comparison.  I guess it's what they say about having a second child, etc...

I'm going to try my best to play a little catch-up.  And, even though the holidays will soon be here, I'm going to do some recap posts from our 2011 holidays.  So, bear with me.  Or, not... I just want to make sure to have as much documented as possible.

Both kids are *kind of* playing together right now, so, let's see how much I can accomplish!

Evie turned Eight months old on July 29, 2012.

Weight:  18.3 lbs.
Clothes/Diaper: 9 months/Size 4

Sleeping Patterns:  Evie is still a great sleeper.  She sleeps at least 11 hours a night.  She's in bed between 6:30-7:00pm.  She is napping twice a day, with an occasional third nap.

Eating Habits:  Evie has 4 bottles per day, and is eating solids 3 times per day.  She drinks between 7 1/2 to 8 oz. per feeding. She's doing great with finger foods, and puts everything in her mouth!

Milestones: Evie started crawling the day she turned eight months old.  She is making ma ma, da da, na na, and a few other consonants. She also claps, and does the motor-mouth sound (just like her brother!). She can also stand.

Evie is Seven Months Old

*Evie's six month check-up wasn't scheduled until after our vacation.  She was 6 1/2 months during her visit.  Therefore, this post is a 6-7 month update.

Evie turned Seven months old on June 29, 2012.

Weight:  16.9 lbs. (50%)
Height:  25 1/2 in. (25%)
Clothes/Diaper: 6-9 months/Size 3

Sleeping Patterns:  Evie still goes to bed at 6:30pm.  She typically wakes around 6:15am.  She slept in until 7am one day last week! It felt like a little vacation for me! Ha!  She has pretty much dropped her third nap, and is napping at 8am, and noon.  I sometimes try to schedule an errand in the late afternoon, because I know that she'll sleep in her car seat. Each nap typically lasts between 1 hr., 15 min to 2 hours. We had a couple of weeks of adjusting, once we returned from our trip, but I know now she thrives better on a schedule.  She loves to sleep on her tummy, and does almost always.  She still also sleeps with her pacifier.  Thankfully, she is now able to grab it, and put it in her mouth.

Eating Habits:  Evie has 4 bottles per day, and is eating solids 2-3 times per day.  She drinks between 7 1/2 to 8 oz. per feeding. She is currently now, working her way through fruits.  She's had no issues or allergies thus far.  She's a great eater!

New discoveries:  Toys, toys, and more toys!  She is sitting independently, and loves to play with anything within reach.  We are working on big brother letting her play with his stuff. :)  Evie is also constantly grabbing my jewelry.  She has yanked out an earring, one too many times!  I really don't wear earrings or necklaces too much anymore.

Milestones: Evie sits great, with no support.  She is trying so hard to crawl, and I think she will soon. She has taken a liking to army crawling.  She lays her head on her bumper to sleep, and is now fully capable of falling asleep on her own.  She's continually doing well with making different sounds too.

Places Evie loves:  Her bouncy seat, being held, Bumbo seat, exersaucer, jumper, and stroller.  She also loves being outside.  Both kids are enjoying the neighborhood walks and pool.

Special Friends:  Big Brother Bobby and Parker Wade.

Current Events:  Mud-slinging between Obama and Romney campaigns, 2012 Tour de France,  Olympics Pre-trials, and one of the hottest summers on record.

What We Did this Day:  Ran errands.

Father's Day 2012

Father's Day this year was pretty low-key.  We had just returned from a week at the beach, followed by an 11 hour drive the day before.  We went out to breakfast, and then went to Moss Rock Preserve, for a little family hike.  We finished the day relaxing, and having homemade pulled pork BBQ for dinner!  Bob's gift this year was a nice, new leather iPad/briefcase bag.

Here are some pictures from our breakfast and hike:

Evie's First "Solids" Meal

Evie started eating solids last week.  I was planning on starting her at 5 1/2 months (the same age as Bobby), but waited a bit longer due to our beach vacation.  I just didn't want to deal with her trying new foods while on vacation, in case of any mishaps.

She has done great so far!  Both of my kids were so much more interested in eating, because I started them later.  She lunges for the spoon, and is a great eater!  We've only done rice cereal, and oatmeal.  We'll be starting veggies this week.  Time sure is flying!
