Valentine's Proposal

We had the honor yesterday of witnessing a marriage proposal of one of our best friends!

Bob's friend, Mike (or, as he says "a brother from another mother") proposed to his girlfriend yesterday. In Birmingham, each year, the Mercedes Marathon always falls right around Valentine's Day. Mike, and his girlfriend Brandi ran the race together. The big plan was for Mike to propose to Brandi at the finish line.

Bob received an email from Michael earlier in the week, with very specific plans and details about the proposal. It was a special email, in that he included us with his family (which drove from SC to witness it), and her family. We've known Mike for five years, and it is strange (but cool!) that he is now living in Birmingham. He lived just a few houses down from us in our old house, in Orlando.

Once Bobby was born, Mike became "Uncle Mike." Now, it looks like he'll be welcoming a new aunt into our family. We love you Mike and Brandi! Congratulations!

Flashback Friday - Wedding Edition

I had the bright idea of adding a little spin to my Flashback Friday posts. For the next several months, I will be devoting my FF posts to my wedding. I actually thought of this recently; the night we celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. You see... I have nearly 700 photographs from our wedding day, courtesy of our awesome wedding photographers. Yet, just a *snippet* of these photos are in our actual album, and in our home. So, I thought it would be fun to showcase them on my blog.

Our Engagement

Unfortunately, we do not have any pictures of the proposal. However, I do have a couple of pictures that were used pertaining to our engagement.

This picture was my favorite one taken during our engagement picture session. We framed it, and used it as our guest "book" during the wedding. It hangs in our home today.

Here we go!

16 More Days, and we'll finally be married!

Bob and I are in awe of how fast our wedding is approaching. It seems just like yesterday when the countdown was at 5 months, 3 months, or 1 month...but, now, now it's just 16 days away!

Surprisingly, I feel calm and collected over the planning. Neither of us are experiencing "cold feet." I wonder if people only experience that if it's not meant to be? This weekend, my mom, Kathy, Caryn, and Lisa will be busy making the wedding favors. They are amazingly cute, and fairly cheap to make. On Tuesday, I had my 'trial run' for my make-up and hair. I was very happy with the outcome, and cannot wait to see the whole package, come October 13th.

Overall, this is quite an exciting time for us! I know that it will be here before we know it. And, sadly, I know it will be over before we know it. However, we are grateful for the experience. We can't wait to see all of our friends and family.
