Big Brother 10

Dear Jessie,
I hope you are evicted tonight on Big Brother 10. No one likes you!  Plus, it would be really cool if the UF grad, Angie, stayed in the house.

Love,
Jen

Donna Martin Graduates! Donna Martin Graduates!

CW is premiering a brand-new spanking spin-off, of the ever so popular, 90's night time soap, 90210. I CANNOT WAIT! I know it will never replace the original, but I am still going to watch. I saw on the Today Show that Tori Spelling, Shannen Doherty, and Jennie Garth have all signed on to reprise their roles - YESSSSS!

Check your local listings for the time-slot, premiering September 2nd.

Happy Belated 26th Birthday Kathy!

My little sister Kathy celebrated her 26th birthday on July 24th. Happy Belated Birthday Kathy!

Kathy is 3.5 years younger than me. She was the best maid of honor a girl could ask for. The Bachelorette party was awesome, and her toast at the wedding was perfect! Kathy goes by the nickname of "Pig" in our family. I am "Mouse." Yes, weird, we know. Kathy was a talented cheerleader in high school, and could do things in the air, I can only dream of. She drives a cool black Jetta, loves Florida State, playing golf, reality TV shows, has a great sense of style, and will embarrass herself to make others laugh. She's had her life flipped upside down recently, but is handling things like a trooper.

Happy birthday Pig, we miss you!

I do NOT endorse this product.

To my women readers,

Do not use these razors. They are horrible. End of story.

Love,
Jen

Tour de Cahaba

July 27, 2008

Bob participated in the Tour de Cahaba race in Birmingham. It technically was not a race, but a great event in honor of the Tour de France and the cycle enthusiasts of Birmingham.

Stats:

Distance of race: 68 miles
Time: 4.5 hours
Miles per hour: Averaged 15 mph
Elevation: Hills everywhere!
Worth it: YES!

Almost Perfect, I think...

Quick question for you bloggers... does anyone know how I can change the font on all my previous posts? I don't want to take the time to change each individual one. The old font does not mesh well with my new layout.

Ok, back to General Hospital.

OH. MY. GOSH.

It is roach season. They are everywhere. Seriously, we kill or see at least three a day. Help.

4th of July Celebration

Bob and I spent the 4th of July in Peachtree City this year. Each year, Bob's parents throw a great party, and we were finally able to come. From Birmingham, we are now just over a 2 hour drive from them. It's great!

Peachtree City is known for their miles upon miles (hundreds) of golf cart paths. We went to a parade on Friday morning, and literally were stuck in a traffic jam on the golf cart path. The picture here (courtesy of Bob Sr.) does not do this traffic jam justice. There were hundreds of golf carts, and they were mostly all decorated for the 4th.
After the parade, we headed back to the house for the party. It was great seeing old friends, and meeting new ones too. Later that night, we took the golf carts to view the fireworks. They were great!

Overall, it was a wonderfully fun, long weekend. I'm sure we'll be visiting both our families in Atlanta a lot!

Blogger

I decided to give my blog a new layout last night, and now all of my sidebars are gone!

Does anyone know how to get them back? Had I known that was going to happen, I wouldn't have made the changes.

I do like the green though.

Last, but not least...

Hi, if you are here to read about our house, start from the bottom up.

**Disclaimer**

I hate to be a blagger (thanks Shannon), bragging and blogging, but I just wanted to let our family and friends share in this great news. We are very grateful to be building a home, in what we feel, is our dream community. With that being said, we are still in the beginning stages, and well...you just never know what could happen. So, I will keep on prayin' that all goes well.

We miss everyone, but Birmingham has been great thus far!

The Uptain

These are pictures of the house we are building - the Uptain. They are scattered throughout the neighborhood.

You'll notice in one, that it is a side view. The house is about two rooms wide (dining and family room) in the front, and then is really long. You can somewhat see this in one of the pictures.

I love the porch on these houses too! We are thinking of rockers or a porch swing. We will definitely be putting ceiling fans up too. I am looking forward to sitting on the porch at dusk with a nice drink and relaxing!

The house is a split plan. The master is on the first floor. And the 3 bedrooms are on the second floor. Bob is finally getting his "man room" he's wanted ever since seeing Kyle Becker's.

The Resort

Did I mention there was a resort in the neighborhood?!?!? LOL...

The resort is a Marriott Renaissance resort. Doesn't it look like a castle? It is beautiful in person. The resort is very close to our house. It is literally a block away. Residents, during the week receive a 20% discount on spa services too.

The golf course is the THIRD longest in the world! How cool is that? Bob says his goal is to play once a month. It is part of the Robert Trent Jones golf trail (whatever that means...). We may have a view of the golf course from our second story. We'll have to see once the house is built.

Any takers on visiting?!?

The Park and Pool

These two pictures are of the park and pool. Again, they were drive-by, so not very good quality. The pool and park are side by side, basically in the middle of the neighborhood. You can't tell by the picture, but next to the playground, there is a large open green space. This will be great for Winston to practice his Frisbee skills!

The Lot

The first picture is the SOLD sign on our lot! We are so proud of this!!!

The second picture was taken from the alley of our lot. This neighborhood has an alley behind each row of houses for the driveways. I love this kind of neighborhood!!! The houses you see in this picture will be what we see from our front porch, or front of the house.

The third picture was taken from the front of our house. The gigantic house in the background will be behind our house. We will share an alley with them.

This neighborhood is unique because there are million dollar homes (like the one behind us) mixed in with smaller ones. There are also townhomes, lofts, etc...

Fresh Market on the Green

This is a bad picture, we took it as we were driving out of the neighborhood. This is in walking distance of where our house will be. Actually, everything is in walking distance - the pool, park, trails, and soon to be developed retail space. There have been rumors of cute boutiques, a neighborhood bar, a smaller Publix (yay!), and a YMCA Express Gym. We'll see...

For you Orlando folks, this neighborhood is a lot like Baldwin Park.

Our New Home

Here are some pics of the new neighborhood, Ross Bridge.

This is a picture of the street we will live on:

Our new address will be (email or call us to find out!). Update your address book! (well...you may want to wait until we move in, oh...and the house to be built.)

Every other Saturday, there is an event called Fresh Market on the Green. I'm not sure if it is year-round, or just during the warmer months. It is like a Farmer's Market, and they also have crafts, food, live music, and activities for the kids. This is one of the great amenities the neighborhood has to offer. There is also a park, beautiful resort-style pool, and numerous trails for biking, jogging, and walking. These amenities is what really sold us on wanting to live here.
