Mommy and Me Monday

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?
Hosted by Krystyn

Happy Memorial Day!

Bobby and I, Memorial Day weekend, 2010.

It's not the best picture, as it was taken with Bob's phone. But, I love it nonetheless. We hosted a cookout for several of our friends yesterday, and had a great time. I hope to post about it soon! Enjoy the holiday!

Regions Charity Golf Classic & Kathy and Ryan's Visit

My sister and her boyfriend, Ryan came up to visit a few weeks ago. They are big golfers, and they were the perfect visitors for the weekend! We enjoyed the Regions Charity Golf tournament, held on our neighborhood's golf course. We enjoyed our neighborhood's festivities to it's fullest! The weather was gorgeous the entire weekend. And, Bobby was great during the tournament! On Friday, we all followed a group for four holes, and Bobby did not make a peep. I think the other spectators following the same group were pretty impressed!

Kathy and Ryan plan on coming up next year for the same event. Family tradition, perhaps?!?

Flashback Friday

When I see this picture, I can't help but think of the theme song to Miami Vice!

But... in actuality, it is Bob and his sister JoJo cruising down Gatun Lake, in Panama. The boat was owned by a family friend (the Parker's), who were also stationed in Panama at the same time. Unfortunately, I don't know the exact year, so any help would be appreciated! :)

Beachside (and, a little bit of poolside) Fun!

(I'm still playing catch-up with my blogging, but I'm almost there!)

During our vacation, we spent most of our free time at the beach. And, a little bit of time poolside. We are definitely more beach bums! We stayed at the Emerald Beach Resort, and throughly enjoyed our stay there! I've got family with a condo, so it was a no-brainer for us to bunk up there.

Daddy and Bobby enjoying some beach time. Bobby LOVED the sand, and crawled all over the place! He was a hit w/ the lady sunbathers! :)

Chillaxin' in his beach chair. (Notice Bob's dad in the background on the computer; so typical!)

Bobby napping in his stroller.
After realizing the first day that Bobby would not nap in the condo (our room was too bright); we coordinated our beach time with his nap time.

Bobby hanging out at the pool!

The banana was our snack of choice during the vacation. It was the easiest, and least messiest to take with us, and to give Bobby on the go!

Gulf Coast Triathlon

On May 8th, 2010, Bob competed in his first Half Ironman triathlon. We packed up the car, (and all of his gear), and headed down to Panama City Beach for the Gulf Coast Triathlon. Bob trained vigorously for many months, and it most definitely paid off! With a goal of completing the race in under 6 hours; he surpassed it with an overall time of 5:52! While training for the race was sometimes stressful on him (he missed a good 3 weeks due to sickness), and us, it was worth it!

Great job Bob, and what an AMAZING feat!

See below for his personal stats:

Swim Distance: 1.2 miles Swim Time: 45:59

Bike Distance: 56 miles Bike Time: 02:38:03

Run Distance: 13.1 miles Run Time: 2:23:16

Mommy and Me Monday & Lost

Although Bobby is not looking at the camera (does he ever?!?), here's this week's Mommy and Me photo. He is smiling though, so it's definitely still a cute picture. This was taken at the beach, a couple of weeks back. And, yes... I am NOT topless, (ha!), just wearing a strapless top.

Oh, and how about that Lost finale last night?!? It was definitely a tear-jerker for me! Although I did not get all of my questions answered (grrr), I felt the last scene, in the church, was beautiful. The show itself is pretty sentimental to me too, for a really corny reason. The pilot episode premiered on September 22nd, 2004. Bob and I had our very first date on September 26th, 2004. We've been watching the show together since it's inception, and well, quite frankly, since our inception. So sad!!! LOL...

What did you think of the series finale?

Birthday Banner

I ordered this banner for Bobby's birthday party, and thought it was really cute!

After scouring the internet, and mainly blogs, I agreed that a Radio Flyer Wagon themed party was the way to go. The Preppy Baby and Marriage, Magnolia, and Manhattan both did posts with great suggestions. If you know Bobby, then you know he is obsessed with wagons! He will crawl over to ones all the time at the pool and park. It is too funny. As with most kids' parties, you really just gotta go with what they love at that age. Next year? Who knows... maybe it'll be an Elmo themed party!

Anyhow, if you are interested in ordering a customized, personalized banner for your little one, here's the 411:

A Bit Behind

As mentioned previously, I'm a bit behind with my blogging. However, I want to make sure and document everything, because this blog is our family's journal or journey.

This post dates all the way back to Easter. I did blog a bit about what we did Easter weekend here. But, this post recaps the remainder of the weekend. After church, we spent the rest of the day enjoying our neighborhood park, and having our Easter dinner at the resort. It was a beautiful Sunday, and the perfect way for our family to spend our first Easter as three.

A hot-air balloon graced the park at sunset with it's beauty!

Daddy and Bobby goofing off at the playground.

Love his nautical outfit from Nordstrom's!

Here's our little photo shoot at the resort:

Flashback Friday

I LOVE looking back at pictures of Bobby when he was a newborn! Here he is one year ago, in May of 2009. I had the intention of doing a Flashback Friday post on his one year birthday, but with all the craziness, I never had the chance. Look how skinny his little legs are!

Happy Birthday Victoria!

Happy 12th Birthday Victoria!

Victoria, and Ashley (holding Bobby) on Bobby's first birthday.

Ashley and Victoria, visited, over their Spring Break, 2010.

My oldest niece Victoria, is celebrating 12 years today! Victoria is an exceptional kid! She is beautiful (love her hair!), smart, funny, and the sweetest girl around. She was a huge help in preparing for Bobby's birthday party, along with her sister. I am so thankful that Bobby lives close to four of his cousins, and will have the opportunity to visit them often. I am very much looking forward to having Victoria and Ashley here this summer! Love you V!

One Year Old!

Bobby turned One Year old on April 30th, 2010.

Doesn't he look like a big boy!?!

Weight: 20.75 lbs. (15th percentile)

Height: 30 3/4 inches (55th percentile)

Sleeping Patterns: Not much has changed within the past month regarding sleep. Bobby is still averaging between 11-12 hours of sleep per night. He is usually in bed around 7pm. After trying for a week and a half to "officially" transition him to one nap, he was obviously not ready (like I had thought). As of now, his morning nap is at 9:45am, lasting anywhere from 1-2 hours. His afternoon nap is 2pm, and is usually a short catnap. Some days, he does not take it at all, or sleeps on the go. One funny thing to mention is Bobby's new acquired nickname given to him by my parents. They called him Beaver Ross while visiting recently because he has chewed his crib rails so badly! I'm glad we did not spend too much on his crib!

Eating Habits: Bobby's eating schedule each day is typically this:
7am - Bottle of Whole Milk
7:30 am - Breakfast
9:15 am - Morning Snack
12:00 pm - Lunch
3:00 pm - Afternoon Snack
5-6 pm - Dinner
Bedtime - Bottle of Whole Milk

Bobby is eating all table food, and is generally not very picky. He is also drinking at least 8 oz. of juice + purified water each day. He does great with a sippy cup. I will probably replace his morning bottle with a sippy cup sometime soon. But, in all honesty, I am in no rush! I want to baby him as long as possible :).

New discoveries & Accomplishments: Bobby's changed quite a bit in the past month. He is still very vocal, and making new sounds. He recently started with h's, y's (like yes), and also loves to click his tongue. He mimics us with clicking his tongue, and making motor mouth sounds. I have heard him say "hi" a few times, but his main words are still "mama" and "dada." Bobby is waving bye-bye (when he feels like it), plays peek-a-boo, plays "gimme five", and is very interested in having books read to him. He is truly a sponge absorbing it all in. As for walking, I believe we are getting close. He is balancing for longer periods of time. I think he gets scared though, and sits back down. He is still into everything; and would rather pull out all of our DVD's, tupperware, or napkins, instead of playing with his toys. Bobby is wearing 12-18 months in clothes, and size 5/6 in shoes. He has four teeth on the top, and 2 on the bottom. He is in size 4 diapers.

Places you love: Thankfully, Bobby has now entered into the snuggly stage! He loves to rest his head on my shoulder when I hold him. He also loves to snuggle each morning, and after each nap. Bobby also loves: riding in his buggy/car, wagon, stroller, and in the car. The car seat in Daddy's car faces forward, and he is very into checking out his surroundings. It made the last car trip (4.5 hours) a breeze! Bobby loves the pool, and is fearless in the water. He loves taking baths still, and is making bigger and bigger splashes. Bobby is also starting to pet, and climb on Winston more and more. He also loves going to Publix with me. He just talks away! Overall, Bobby's disposition is truly a blessing. For a baby that I felt was borderline colic, things are a dream now!

Special Friends: All of the babies in our neighborhood, and those invited to Bobby's first birthday party - Cameron, Cooper, Drew, Harper, and Luke.

Current Events: Oil spill in Gulf of Mexico, Mommy just discovered Justin Bieber, Nashville floods, Orlando Magic are in the Eastern Conference Finals.

What We did This Day: Family was in town for the special day! Grandma and Grandpa Lee, Grandma and Grandpa Ross, Uncle Chuck, Aunt Lorraine, Aunt JoJo, Aunt Melissa, cousins Victoria, Ashley, Andrew, and Alexis all came to celebrate! Daddy took off work too. We all went to the zoo, and then cooked out for dinner. It was so fun!
