Panama City Beach

Our family headed down to Panama City Beach a few weekends ago, for some R&R. Bob has been busy with work, and I was definitely in need of a change of scenery. The three of us spent three nights there, and it was just what we needed! Bobby starts school next week, and we wanted to have one last vacation (just us) before all of our Fall activities started. Bobby cried a little bit the first day, but after that, he did great! It was definitely a change from our beach trip in July. He played in the sand and water. He was a champ, as we spent 6 hours at the beach the first day, and five the second. Whew! Overall, the trip was great, and we hope to return soon!

We went out to eat the last night, to a great restaurant - Boatyard. I highly recommend it, if you're ever in PCB.

26 Weeks Pregnancy Update

Here I am at 26 weeks...
Photobucket
And, here I was at 22 weeks.
Photobucket
I can see a difference, can you?
I had my 26 week appointment today. Everything is going great! The baby's heartbeat was 150, and I measured right on time. I have gained 13 lbs. to date. Thankfully, I only gained 2 lbs. this month. Last time, I had gained 5, and was a little worried!
The pregnancy has been pretty easy lately - with the exception of feeling tired here and there. I am dreading the lack of energy the 3rd trimester will soon bring. I am starting to feel pretty uncomfortable now while sleeping, with a lot of tossing and turning. I guess my belly truly is starting to get huge. Thankfully though, the non-stop pee'ing in the night has slowed down a lot. Bob is feeling the baby kick all the time, and actually felt her around 21 weeks (he felt Bobby at 23 weeks).
Speaking of Bobby, he says "night-night" to his baby sister every night. He can say "baby", but has a bit of a hard time pronouncing "sister." It is too cute though.
We've decided to name our little princess...
Evelyn Lee or "Evie"

New Smyrna Beach, FL

Bobby and I spent a week at the beach with my family, back in July. Bob was not able to join us because he was studying for his Series 7 test (he passed with flying colors!), and then had to go out of town for work. It was great spending time with my family; but not much of a relaxing, beach vacation for me. It is hard being the sole parent to a toddler, when they are out of their element. I had plenty of help, but it was still exhausting. I'm sure being 20 weeks pregnant at the time, also contributed...

Here are a few pictures to document our trip:

Bobby (age 2) & Alexis (age 5) playing in the sand. This was a rare occasion for Bobby. He did not enjoy the beach this trip, and wanted to be held most of the time.

Bobby got in LOTS of playtime with his cousins.

Alcohol was off-limits to me, and of course, the kiddos. Boo. Maybe next year?

All of the grandkids watching the ocean - in age order, of course! :)

I can't wait for next summer! Bob will be there, and we'll also have another little munchkin grandchild for my parents to dote on!

22 Weeks Pregnancy Update

Here I am in all my glory (NOT.) at 22 weeks.

Photobucket

I had my 22 week appointment last week. Everything is going great! The baby's heartbeat was 160, and I measured right on time. I have gained 11 lbs. to date.

The second trimester has been pretty good! I am tired here, and there; but, it's not too bad. I have had some problems sleeping the past few weeks, due to my baby camping out on my bladder all night. Seriously, I counted pee'ing 7 times in one night, once. Ugh. We are still not decided on a name, but have a couple of favorites. I am very eager for Fall to arrive, because the hot weather is no fun for this preggo (especially when Bobby wants to be held all the time.)

I feel like the time is definitely flying by though, and I get more and more excited to meet our baby girl. Bob and I are just so curious as to what she'll look like!

PS. As of today, I am now 23 weeks.

Jamie, I dedicate the above picture to you!

It's Like Rain on Your Wedding Day...

A few weekends ago, we headed down to Destin, FL for Bob's BFF's wedding. We arrived late Friday night, searching for the condo in what I would call hurricane-like weather! The rain was pelting the windows sideways, and coming down hard. Unfortunately, this was a preview of things to come...

Mike (Bob's brother from another mother), and his now-wife, Brandi planned a beautiful wedding. While the guest list was small, at under 20 people, the wedding incorporated everything you'd see at a large-scale wedding and reception.

A beautiful beach ceremony, at sunset was planned. But, this was what the weather looked like...

Photobucket

It looks like there were waves of water on the condo/resort's terrace. Sadly, it basically got to that point.

So, in an effort to get those nuptials ON, the ceremony was moved indoors.

The groom watching his bride walk down the aisle:

The bride and her daughter, Ryen, walking down the aisle. (Notice Bob in the background. Bobby was not on his best behavior at this point, and we had to take turns holding him outside, or in the back.)

All the kiddo's in attendance:

So, this picture pretty much sums up how the reception went. It was hellishly windy, rainy, and storming. Everyone was a good sport, and grinned and beared it. (Side note: the reception was outside, under a tent).

Photobucket

The floor started to flood.

Photobucket

Umbrellas were opened.

Photobucket

Pants were rolled up.

Photobucket

Eek!!! Look at the bride's gown!

Photobucket

Finally, after dinner, and during the first dances, lighting struck just a little too close to home. The party was moved indoors, with the cutting of the cake and toasts.

The bride with Bobby:

With the torrential downpour these two experienced on their wedding day; they are going to have the best luck in their marriage.

Congrats to Mike and Brandi!

Whoa, Nelly!

To my devoted blog readers (all 6 of you), I am back from my little blog "break." Bob hijacked my laptop for several weeks to study for a licensing exam, and then we headed off on vacation for a bit. So, I'll be playing catch-up over the next couple of weeks.

I'm sure you all missed me immensely! :)
