Tim and Courtney's Wedding Shower

Bob and I went to a Couple's Wedding Shower last weekend. It was a lot of fun, and I wanted to share a few pictures. Their wedding colors are green and navy, and I just LOVED the cake.

Cake courtesy of Edgar's Bakery

The stash of gifts. Don't you just love the complimentary wrapping at Bed, Bath and Beyond?

The Bride and Groom - due to be married June 20, 2009.

Unfortunately, we'll have just a weeks old baby at this point, so we'll be missing the wedding.

Commercials

Ugh...I really get annoyed with television shows when they sneak in commercials.  My soap opera General Hospital is guilty of this big time! Damages this season has a Cadillac in every episode.  24 was pretty bad last season with Ford trucks.  You get the picture.  I guess since the DVR has taken over, products are now finding their way into our regular TV shows.

Anyone else notice this? What are some other shows that do this?

Spring Fever Cuteness

I just ordered the above towel (three, to be exact) from Williams-Sonoma. Isn't it cute? It'll match my kitchen decor perfectly. I used a gift card from our wedding, way back in October of 2007. I am so bad at using gift cards, but I love receiving them! In some cases, I'd rather get a gift card. It may take me awhile to use one, but it's always worth it...

Find these towels and more for Spring at williams-sonoma.com.

Mercedes Half Marathon - February 15, 2009

I finally got around to uploading the pictures from last weekend. Bob ran in the Mercedes Half Marathon in downtown Birmingham. This event is the biggest race in Birmingham each year, and it draws thousands of participants from all over. Bob started training for the half a couple of months prior. However, 3 weeks before the race, he was sidelined due to a knee problem. He even started physical therapy. But, that did not stop him! He ran the race anyhow, and finished with a time of 2 hours and 16 minutes. He took his time, knowing full well that his knee was not 100%. With all the troubles he had, he still went out and did this. I am so proud of him. Next year, he's hoping to do the full!

Here is Bob approaching the finish line.

After the race with yours truly.

Mandy, Bob, and Gabe - the 'Ham Sandwiches. The 'Ham Sandwiches is Bob's running group from work. Only three were brave enough to do the half!

Every finish deserves a price!

Belly Laughs

I finished Belly Laughs, by Jenny McCarthy in less than two hours on Sunday night. I highly recommend it if you are pregnant. It really is a fun, entertaining read. The only word of advice... don't read in bed while your husband is sleeping next to you. I had to keep my giggles to myself :-).

Proof

This is proof that Winston really does love his stuffed animals. Here he is cuddling with Beavertown. Or, wait?!? Is that Sneaky Squirrel? See this if you would like an introduction to his friends.

Pregnancy Woes

I should have kept my mouth shut at the beginning of the week.

I was so excited to have a busy week, and then, all of a sudden, I woke up in horrible pain on Wednesday. I'm talking unbearable, can't walk, crying for my husband pain! I immediately called my doctor, and he told me that I was most likely suffering from round ligament pain. He ordered me to be on bed rest for the day, with a heating pad, Tylenol, and a warm bath. So, I was bummed to not have met my friend for lunch and glider shopping. I also could not go to work on Thursday because I was still in a little bit of pain. I had not heard of any friends or family that has had this so badly, until I got on Facebook. A few of my FB friends said theirs was so bad they could also not walk, and one girl even went to the hospital. I was seriously contemplating that. I had this same pain over Christmas, but it was not nearly as bad. I can't complain though. Really. I've had such an easy pregnancy, that a few days of this is better off than puking my guts out. I never did that thankfully!

Work? Who? Me?

I have a pretty busy week ahead, but I am very thankful. I'm actually working five (yes, five!) days this week. I usually only work three. I asked my boss to stack my hours for me as long as possible. I am hoping to work up until the baby comes, but in my job, it may be difficult. For those of you that do not know, I'm no longer working in good ol' Corporate America. I do miss my old job (in Florida) a lot though. It was a great company, and the people there were amazing. I now work for a running speciality store in Birmingham called Fleet Feet. You may have heard of this store, there are about 90 or so nationwide. I love my job here though! I am a runner, and it truly is fun to have a job where your professional and personal life coincide so perfectly.

*Speaking of running, Bob ran the Mercedes Half Marathon this weekend. More on that, once I upload the pictures.

Ok, so besides work, I have a fun Wednesday afternoon planned with a co-worker and friend, who is also pregnant. [There truly is something in the water here. There are three pregnant girls on my street alone in the neighborhood (along with many others just in the neighborhood). And, there are three of us at work that are pregnant. We only have 6 employees. So, if you are trying to conceive, move to Birmingham!] We will be heading out for lunch one day, and then glider shopping. Ooooh la la. The glider is the only piece of furniture I still need to find.

And then, finally, to wrap the week up, we have a Couple's Wedding Shower on Saturday night.

Let's just hope I'm still this chipper in my pregnant state by the end of the week. I hope everyone has a great week. And, Happy President's Day, especially if you are off! (I would have been at my old job!) Ha!

23 Week Appointment

I had my 23 week appointment this morning. Everything is going well. I am 23 weeks, and 3 days today, and measured at 24 weeks - right on target. The heartbeat was stronger and louder than last time. I still can't help but beam when I hear it. I have gained 16 lbs. total, 6 of which was in the last month (OMG!). My doctor says that if I continue at this rate, I'll probably gain 35-40 lbs. total. I also have O- blood, so my Rh factor in my blood is also negative. Because of this, I may have to have a shot at 28 weeks, and possibly after delivery. I go back at 26 weeks for more blood work to see if this is needed. I also need to take the dreaded glucose test before I am 28 weeks. I can't believe once I'm 28 weeks, I'll be going to the doctor every 2 weeks! I feel like everything is really starting to sneak up on us!

He's getting bigger and stronger!

About two weeks ago, Bob thought he felt the baby kick. But, we weren't too sure... Well, last night, as we were watching one of our favorite shows (Big Love), Bobby was kicking hard! And, Bob finally felt him! It was the cutest thing. As soon as he felt it, he bent over my stomach and started talking to the baby. It made me laugh, and I almost cried. Yes, I'm pregnant, and emotional. Anyhow, more for our records, I just wanted to document that Bob felt the baby move on February 8th, at 23 weeks!

I love being pregnant!

Grocery Game & Weekend Update

I am still obsessed with the site GroceryGame.com. This receipt was from my trip 2 weeks ago. Last week, I saved $66, and some change. If you're interested in saving money, go to the site, and use my email address as a referral - jen_ross@earthlink.net. It's fun, I promise!

Don't be jealous, but I am having a spa day today! Well, I'm only getting a massage, but it's at the Ross Bridge Resort Spa.... oooh la la. Between my birthday, and Christmas, I have two gift certificates to use. I'm using one for a pre-natal massage this trimester, and the other for the third trimester. I can't wait!

Bob and I had a great weekend. Lorraine, Victoria, Ashley, and Alexis came over from Atlanta to help me register. Lorraine and I spent about 3 hours in Babies R Us registering. It was fun! I am getting some things as hand-me-downs from both Lorraine and Caryn, so I got lucky there. I am very thankful for Lorraine's help....I learned a lot with her there.

We went to our neighbor's house last night for the Super Bowl. The boys were all watching the game, and us girls just sat around the kitchen and talked - which is the perfect scenario for me. Two of my friends and neighbors are due in March, so of course, baby talk took over a majority of the conversation. Overall, we had a fun weekend.

Now, if it would only stop raining...
