23 Week Appointment
I had my 23 week appointment this morning. Everything is going well. I am 23 weeks, and 3 days today, and measured at 24 weeks - right on target. The heartbeat was stronger and louder than last time. I still can't help but beam when I hear it. I have gained 16 lbs. total, 6 of which was in the last month (OMG!). My doctor says that if I continue at this rate, I'll probably gain 35-40 lbs. total. I also have O- blood, so my Rh factor in my blood is also negative. Because of this, I may have to have a shot at 28 weeks, and possibly after delivery. I go back at 26 weeks for more blood work to see if this is needed. I also need to take the dreaded glucose test before I am 28 weeks. I can't believe once I'm 28 weeks, I'll be going to the doctor every 2 weeks! I feel like everything is really starting to sneak up on us!

From my memory, the glucose test was not that bad. It is the one after it if you test positive that I think is not pleasant, but thankfully I didn't have to do that. Word of warning from my sister in law...don't eat a piece of cake within a day of taking the first test or you might have a false positive!
I hope you don't gain 35-40 lbs- that is a lot- with chuck i think i gained like 20, you on the other hand was about 35 and of course with kathy all bets were off- i believe 50-ugh! bob must be + since you are negative- take care love mom
I gained 34 with Tyson and lost it all and then even a few lbs after that. If you do gain in that range you'll be fine. I'm on track for a similar # this time around. I did my glucose test today. it's really not bad. the drink got gross the last couple gulps for me but it's not much that you have to drink. good luck!

Holy cow, it is sneaking up! I almost started crying when you said you started crying when Bob was talking to little Bobby and I'm not even pregnant or emotional. Just such an amazing time in your lives. And only a precursor of what's to come! I love you, sweet pea!
