Evie is Five Months Old

Evie turned Five months old on April 29, 2012.

Weight:  16.2 lbs.
Clothes/Diaper: 3-6 months, 6 months/Size 2

Sleeping Patterns: Evie's nighttime sleep has improved since last month.  She still goes to bed at 6:30pm.  But, instead of waking at 5am for a feeding, she is sleeping until after 6am.  I also had to do sleep training for naps this month too.  Evie had been napping in her swing, but with our upcoming beach week; I had to get her napping in her crib.  It took a week and a half, and she is now taking good, solid naps in her crib.  She takes typically 2 good naps in her crib, and sometimes a third catnap "on the go."  She sleeps on her side mostly, and sometimes on her back.  I've had to flip her a few times, as she has started to roll over on her tummy.  She'll go right back to sleep though.  She has a little monkey blanket that she loves to sleep with, and her pacifier.

Eating Habits:  Eats every 3-4 hours on average during the day.  Currently, she is taking 6.5 oz. at each feeding.  She will drink a bit more for her nighttime bottle.  We still have not started solids yet either.

New discoveries:  Evie is doing great sitting up with support. I believe she'll be a sitter any day now! She can now play in her Jumparoo. I also have started giving Evie some Baby Einstein DVD watching time, a few times a week.  She tries to put everything in her mouth, but I've yet to see any signs of a tooth.  Evie is quite social.  Randomly, she will laugh and shriek.  It really is adorable, especially while in public!

Milestones: Sleep-training with naps are a success (after a frazzled 1.5 weeks for Mommy).  Rolls over back and forth a lot.  Does great in the YMCA nursery.  Also, becoming more vocal with sounds developing.

Places Evie loves:  Her swing, bouncy seat, being held, Bumbo seat, activity mat, exersaucer, jumper, and stroller.  She also loves being outside.  We are enjoying our front porch a lot these days, with the warm weather.  Both kids are enjoying the neighborhood walks and pool.

Special Friends:  Big Brother Bobby

Current Events:  Mitt Romney clinches the GOP for Presidential candidate, SEC Baseball tournament comes to Hoover, violent uprising in Syria, Facebook stock fails to live up to expectations. Avengers takes top spot at the box office.

What We Did this Day:  Low-key Sunday at home.

Here's Bobby at five months:

And, here's his five month post.
